Amsterdam Falafel Shop @ Davis Square Somerville, MA Boston

IMG_7069

last night i was in davis square and walking passed by Amsterdam Falafel Shop. although i already had din din at Toraya, i still wanted to try it. ive never had falafel before. this was my first time.

‘Falafel is a deep fried ball or patty that is made from chickpeas or fava beans and spices. It is a vegetarian food, and is considered to be a fast food, many times offered by street vendors.

Falafel is served with many types of sauces, including tahini or a falafel hot sauce. It can be served alone, or as in a falafel pita sandwich.’

the menu is very simple. you can either get small or regular and white or wheat. i got the small and wheat since i already had din din. i didnt read the topping strategies til now because i was busy taking pix. man i did not CRUSH MY BALLS lol. make sure you do that so the sauce and get into the balls.

Lobster Roll @ B&G Oysters South End Boston, MA + Night Out @ The Liquor Store Downtown Boston, MA

i had din din with my girls at the b&g oysters last night in south end. the restaurant is relatively small and the atmosphere is very causal and laid back.

this is another barbara lynch restaurant which means great wine list to me!!! unfortunately i was too drunk the night before and felt sick so i did not try their wine. bummer.

so there kicked in my coke cravings. i freaking love coke.

this olive oil was very interesting. im not saying i loved it, it’s just different from what i usually have. it’s like you can really taste.. olives.. like fresh olives.

i HATE hate hate!! oysters. i simply hate hate the texture. the nastiest feeling my mouth ever felt. so no oysters.

spottail bass. this was pretty tasty actually. i enjoyed it.

here comes the lobster roll that everybody raves abt:

i also had the BLT with lobster. this tasted pretty much what i expected. lobster was juicy, fresh, plump. bacon is bacon. i felt that the bread couldve been a lil bit better. fries were normal. pickles were good. this didnt wow me, but it was good.

a closer pic of them lobsters

a closer pic of them fries. i consider myself a messy eater. i had one of these green thingy from the fries hanging on my face for the rest of the night and none of my girls told me about it. thanks girls.

me and my b.l.t. lobster. who looks better

Brunch @ The Butcher Shop South End Boston, MA

today, i had brunch with my friends and pork belly @ the butch shop in south end. this is actually a butcher shop, but kinda trendy atmosphere.

this is one of the Barbara Lynch restaurants. the food was very fresh and delicious!! service was friendly, but really slow.

i had a horrible morning, so i had to have a glass of wine. i ordered a glass of riesling, i have to say, it was one of the best rieslings i have had in a restaurant.

cauliflower soup. very rich tasting.

shepherd’s pie consists of meat, parsnips, cauliflower, and curry. this was delicious. it was delicious!!

TBS sandwich. i didnt have this, but according to my friend, it was super super good!

expresso

chocolate mousse

creme caramel – the fancy smaller version of flan?!?!

the butcher:

hands down, food was def delicious, but i think it is a little pricey.

Chilean Sandwich @ Chacarero Downtown Boston, MA

if you work near downtown boston, you have to check out this chilean joint! i come here at least once a week. def love it. it’s a sandwich with beef/chicken, avocado spread, green beans, tomatos, red pepers, and homemade bread. i suggest you get a BBQ chicken or BBQ beef or the bbq combo, but sometimes i found the beef isnt tender. get there before or around 11:30 otherwise the line gets super long! this place takes cash only. the sandwich costs abt $9.

small bbq chicken. yea, it’s huge!
