Emerald lounge
i like here better on weekdays. music is not as loud and the bar isnt as crowded. on weekends, the music are too loud to have a conversation with someone and you are not allowed to dance either.

Legal Harborside @ Waterfront Boston, MA

we went to nantasket beach yesterday. it’s actually pretty close to boston. the beach wasn’t that nice, but the water is clearer and warmer than hampton. cooked my bunny belly under the sun for a few hours then we decided to head back to boston for some FOOD!

my friend Eric suggested the legal seafood  in waterfront. legal seafood really? well, he said this is the good one, right on water bla bla  so i was convinced to go. we made a reservation right before heading there.

so basically this is the flagship of legal seafood. they named it legal harborside. it’s in waterfront located in the seaport district. it has three floors and each floor has its own concept. the 1st floor is just the regular legal seafood menu. the 2nd floor serves the fancier stuff and you can dine on the balcony which we did. the 3rd floor is a rooftop lounge.

guess what, i forgot to bring my CAMERA! aiyaaaa ;’(  so im gonna steal a pic from their website ;P

the entrees were 30-50 $$ each and appetizers were about 10-20 $$, so we opted for the tasting menu.

i wasnt gonna take pix cuz im too good to snap with my iphone (jk), but the presentation of food actually looked pretty good.  so here it is

IMG_0040

grilled rare hiramasa, niçoise style

IMG_0042

alaskan king crab cake, chorizo aioli

IMG_0044

sweet pea soup, seared diver scallop, brown butter foam

IMG_0046

then we had

pan roasted arctic char, grilled green garlic tapenade, cockles, braised baby fennel, romesco – very nice crisp skin

orange vanilla creamsicle

these are not pictured because by the time we had those, it got so dark already. the dinner lasted almost 3 hours because of extremely slow service. the food is def better than your average legal seafood and the view was very enjoyable, but the it still has the average sucky chain restaurant service. very rude, chaotic, slow service. they even brought us the wrong food. wine was not so good either.

it’s a good place to bring a date, but i’d def explore more places in the seaport district before i return to this one.

hope everyone had an enjoyable and safe weekend and happy monday!!!!!!

dont forget to like my facebook page and follow me on twitter! thanks!

Sushi @ Yoki Boston Station Landing Medford, MA

i have 2 friends live in station landing, so we go to yoki a lot. yoki actually got a lot better over the past year or so. i used to hate yoki due to their unbelievable slow service and average sushi, but now their service got a lot better and faster. i dont remember if they had a bar when they first opened, but now there is a bar and a few TVs which is perfect to watch a sports game. the atmosphere is casual and modern.

i jus grabbed a quick lunch before i headed to my hair appointment.
Gyoza
Pork and vegetable dumplings – were ok.
IMG_2239

Red Sox Maki
Tuna, cucumber and avocado roll topped with fresh sliced tuna and a mixture of tempura flakes and baked chopped eel. Finished with tobiko, scallion and glazed sweet sauce and spicy mayo.
i personally hate sushi with mayo. i would ask for no mayo if i order this by myself.

the sushi they serve is relatively fresh. you never have to wait for seats. if you live close by and like sushi, it’s worth to check it out.

btw, i just got a new camera -> canon 5d mark II. ive been wanting this camera forever. i was deciding between this camera or a nice purse for my birfuday; i guess this was a much wiser decision. (my birfuday isnt til august (: )although 5d mark iii is out already, paying 1k for that i think its unnecessary since i am no where close to a pro yet. 5d mark ii should be good enough for me now. i already started wanting more lenses. i got the EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens which is decent all-around lens and its a good deal to purchase with the body. i also have a fisheye lens from pork belly since he sold his body. now i can finally take more sophisticated pictures! w00t w00t!!

Crawfish @ Chasin’ Tails Crawfish Arlington, VA Alternative to the Boiling Crab

when pork belly and i visited cali last year we loved the boiling crab there; we have been looking for an alternative to the boiling crab around VA and MA ever since. we have tried the Hot N Juicy Crawfish in DC but it was iight. the crawfish was wayy too small and the taste wasnt cutting it.
this louisiana crawfish and seafood joint just opened in arlington so pork belly and i decided to go for a visit.
we ordered the bayou catch special which consists of crawfish, clams, mussels, shrimps, snow crab legs, corns, potatoes, and andouille sausages. we ordered it with the whole shebang sauce and hot. they also have whole shebang @ the boiling crab.

i liked the shrimps a lot. they are nice and big. the crawfish was good too. well cleaned and not sandy. i didnt really like the snow crab legs. wayyy too salty. corns and potatoes were yummmm.

the whole shebang sauce was really salty. i had six glasses of coke and felt nauseous afterwards.

ask for a bib cuz the sauce and juice will get everywhere. it would be a messy meal so please dont come here for first dates.

the service was really good. the waitress kept bring me refills of coke without me even asking for it.

Thai Food @ Bangkok 54 Arlington, VA

pork belly aka the best bf eversu’s sis is getting married tmr. we came to bangkok 54 for din din after rehearsal today.

the food was above average i’d say. well decorated although it looks kinda ghetto from outside.

i had a glass of riesling at the bar while waiting the group to arrive. didnt like it. i also had thai iced tea but it was too sweet and i could barely taste the tea.

the menu for our group:

calamari: where is the salt and pepper as described?

tum yum: i hate when all the lemongrass or all the herbs are still in the soup. i had to spit them out arggg. besides that it tastes normal.

duck curry: fave dish of the night. bold and flavorful.

shrimp pad thai: this was below average. tasted weird to me

pad cha from the sea: a bit too spicy and salty.. in a bad way.

snow peas: yay greens

this place gets 3.5/5 bunny belly

Chillen @ Myung Dong 1st Ave Allston Boston, MA

we went to myung dong for the 1st time in months. we used to come here a lot last summer, but somehow we got tired of it. it’s more like a bar than a korean restaurant to me, but you have to order food with your drinks according to their policy. MD is also packed esp after 8:30 on weekends. they play mostly k-pop music videos along with some american music videos.

although i like the spicy chicken wings, i suggest dont come here if you just want korean food because their food is just mehhhhhh average. come here for soju or jus a fun place to hang out.

pancakes:

i do like the spicy chicken wings. good drinking food.

chicken gizzards. no matter which group of friends i come here with, they always always order this.
i dont like it. i hate the texture and the taste. yesterday was worse.

this was below average.

here comes the soju. yogurt and grape soju

strawberry soju being my fave

we are done. love em edamames

Drinking @ W Lounge Boston

we came to the W lounge after din din last friday for drinks. i had a glass of riesling (duh) to start off. it was pretty bad. my friends had two cocktails which tasted decent. we also had a bottle of champagne. very relaxing atmosphere and comfy seatings! the waitress was kinda pushy probably due to no minimum spending.
