we drove by Restaurant Orange Julep Gibeau from our hotel to downtown everyday. there is always a line, so i decided to check it out.
they are famous for their freshly squeezed trademark orange drink, Gibeau Orange Julep. it’s also a fast food restaurant. i saw a lot poutines on the menu.
it tastes sweet. sweeter than normal orange juice. i actually liked it a lot.

we also checked out schwartz’s and got ourselves some smoked meat sandwiches since they are ridiculously famous.
huge line as expected. they actually have a restaurant next door but we decided to take out.

we jus got the viande fumee smoked meat sandwich. soooooo much meat. very oily and heavy, but it tasted awesome.

Oh, my–that sandwich is huge!
yep. for 6 bux not bad huh
Good thing you knew where the Orange Julep is and didn’t have to rely on Apple’s iOS 6 Maps which placed the big orange dome at the corner of Parc Avenue and Fairmount – not even close to the Decarie location!!
haha i didnt plan to go there. we jus drove by it everyday and it looked like a popular place so we had to check it out. did u like the OJ?
You have an interesting typo in your reply – jus instead of just (that’s French for juice, must be Freudian). The Julep’s OJ is wonderful on a hot day and the place itself is a bit of an institution:

Looking at that sandwich made me hungry. It’s not even close to lunch time. It’s going to be a rough couple of hours!
we always hit these two (and more) when we’re back in Montreal. so good!
Makes me hungry! Cool round red building!
Great photos – now I’m hungry!

wow, amazing food photos! my husband and I also give in to the temptation — when there’s a queue at a food stop, it’s definitely worth checking out…lol!
