Pigalle @ Boston, MA Boston Restaurant Week

i was totally gonna pass on boston restaurant week because i just hate the crowd and lower quality food with not a so much lowered price tag, but my friend asked me to go to Pigalle since they offer an extended RW menu and the RW menu is pretty similar to their regular menu. so why not? we had a reservation for 6:15pm friday night. i didn’t get off work until 6:30 and my friends were running late as well. some restaurants don’t usually hold tables for you if you were late for the reservation. i had a horrrrrrrible day of work so i thought ‘great, I’m so gonna explode if the host gives me bullshit of being late.’ i got there 6:40 and my friends still did not show up. pigalle was pretty packed already and there were people waiting at the bar. fortunately, the host told me that they ll have us seated as soon as my friends get there. i was extremely pleased that they were so nice about it. my friends came around 7:00 and we were seated immediately. wow

i had a glass of riesling (riesling is pretty much the only wine i drink) to start off.

for appetizer i had the duet of vegetable terrines. i didn’t have many choices because i hate oysters and didn’t want to eat salad.

roasted beets with creamed horseradish, beet syrup & toasted brioche
eggplant with roasted red peppers, goat cheese & pesto

beautiful presentation, but no, it was a bad decision. i didn’t like the beets or i don’t like them in general? anyways. i didn’t like it. wasn’t for me.

pigalle’s cassoulet –¬†braised lamb shank, duck leg confit, house made garlic pork sausage & white beans

nice and salty, heavy, satisfying, very wintery food.

lemon meringue tart – i didn’t like this much because it was wayy toooo sour.

ppanna cotta – after the lemon tart, i could barely taste anything due to the sourness. all i could tell it was vanilla.

chocolate cake w/ strawberry sorbet

i think it was a good meal, but it’s just good. not impressive, not a restaurant that i would go back again. i wouldn’t say pigalle is romantic. i think it’s good for small group of friends.

this place gets 3/5 bunny belly

  1. My brother recommended I would possibly like this web site. He used to be totally right. This submit actually made my day. You can not imagine simply how so much time I had spent for this info! Thank you!
